Judge orders destruction of abandoned van

Gardai told the court that the last registered owner of the van was not the current owner and had 'no interest' in the vehicle

A court has ordered the disposal and destruction of an abandoned van that came into the possession of An Garda Síochána.

Sergeant Maurice Doyle told Letterkenny District Court that gardai contacted the last registered owner of the van.

Sergeant Doyle said the person advised that he was no longer the registered owner and had ’no interest in it’.

He applied for the property to be given to the State.

Judge Éiteáin Cunningham made an order for the disposal and destruction of the vehicle.
