Council agree to dispose of land at Greencastle Pier for use by marine enterprises

A number of organisations and businesses will lease the various land and premises

Donegal County Council has agreed to the use of land and premises at Greencastle Pier to local marine enterprises. 

The matter was agreed at a full meeting of Donegal County Council on Monday under Section 211 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000  (As amended) and under Section 183 of the Local Government Act 2001 (As amended).

Disposal of lands by way of lease were proposed by Cllr Martin Farren (FF) and Cllr Albert Doherty (SF).

There are as follows: 

-To dispose by way of lease the old BIM Ice Plant at  Greencastle Pier to Foyle Fisherman’s Co-Op

-To dispose by way of lease the old Esso site at  Greencastle Pier to Seabound Engineering Ltd

-To dispose by way of lease the old Box Pen site at  Greencastle Pier to Seabound Engineering Ltd. 

The disposal of land at Queensport, Greencastle Harbour to  Foyle and Marine Dredging Ltd under the same act was proposed by Cllr Doherty and seconded by Cllr Farren.
