A cat has been shot by a pellet gun and injured in Ramelton.
Animals in Need has now issued a warning to pet owners to keep their pets safe inside. The incident occurred in the Castle Street, Back Lane area of Ramelton last Wednesday.
The cat was shot in the hip with a pellet gun and it had to be surgically removed by a vet which “caused much distress and pain to an innocent animal,” the cat owner told Animals in Need Donegal. “Just to make people in Ramelton aware to keep pets inside because someone is shooting pets with bb (pellet) guns. To say we are angry is an understatement.”
The owner has since reported the incident to the local ISPCA and An Garda Síochána upon advice from the vet.
