Pedestrian hospitalised with serious injuries following Mountcharles collision

Gardaí are advising that the village's Main Street remains closed to traffic

A man has been brought to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Mountcharles in the early hours on Tuesday.

Gardaí are at the scene of the road traffic collision at Main Street, Mountcharles.

A garda spokesperson confirmed: "The collision occurred at approximately 4.30am this morning.

"A male pedestrian has been taken to Letterkenny University Hospital with serious injuries.

"The Main Street in Mountcharles is currently closed to traffic and diversions are in place.

"No further details are available at this time."
