It'll be cloudy and mostly dry tonight with just the odd patch of drizzle and mist, mainly near northwestern coasts, which will make for good conditions for Santa making his way across the country with the help of a moderate to fresh southwest wind

'Santa will have no problem' due to mild Christmas forecast, Met Éireann say

Cloudy this Christmas Eve with scattered patches of light rain and drizzle this morning and early afternoon, Met Éireann say.

Any rain and drizzle will ease through the day. Some mist and hill and coastal fog will linger this morning. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in moderate southwest winds, fresh at times near coasts.

Cloudy and mostly dry tonight with just the odd patch of drizzle and mist, mainly near northwestern coasts. So, Santa will have no problem making his way across the country with the help of a moderate to fresh southwest wind. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.

Christmas Day will be mild and rather cloudy with just a few brighter breaks developing in the afternoon. Most places will be dry but a few patches of light rain and drizzle are possible, mainly in Donegal. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in moderate southwest winds, fresh at times near coasts.
