Gardai carried out a raid at a property in Letterkenny this morning
Two people are being detained for questioning at Letterkenny Garda Station following a drugs bust this morning.
Detectives from the Donegal Division Drugs Unit, aided by the Armed Support Unit, swooped on a property in Letterkenny.
Armed with a search warrant, officers found suspected cocaine valued at €2,800 and suspected cannabis with a value of €1,200.
A quantity of cash, €1,900 and £230 sterling, was seized.
A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were arrested at the scene and are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
A Garda spokesperson said that investigations are still ongoing.
The spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has information in relation to the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Co. Donegal or the border region to contact the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit on 074-9167100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
“The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels, international, national, and local, involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production and local sale and supply of controlled drugs.”
