A well-known local business in Moville is preparing to close its doors after many years of serving the community.

Margaret Clarke, owner of Better Value Furniture on Moville’s Main Street, has announced a closing-down sale following the sad passing of her husband and business partner, Stephen Clarke, at the end of last year.

Stephen worked alongside Margaret in the shop for many years and was a familiar face to customers who regularly called in for furniture and a friendly chat. After his passing, Margaret says it is no longer possible for her to continue running the business alone.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I share this,” she said. “As many of you know, my husband and best friend, Stephen, sadly passed away at the end of last year. Stephen ran the shop alongside me for many years, and without him, it is no longer possible to continue. After much consideration, I have made the difficult decision to close the shop.”

The Closing Down Sale began on Friday, February 27, and runs until Monday, 16th March, with genuine bargains available across all remaining stock.

Customers can expect major reductions on a wide range of items, including sofas, beds, and household furniture. The shop will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 1pm to 4pm, with late-night appointments available for anyone who cannot make the daytime hours during its final week.

Margaret says she hopes to see many long-time customers calling in before she closes the door on Better Value Furniture for the final time.

“Thank you very much to everyone for your support over the years. It would mean so much to see familiar faces call in, say hello, and maybe pick up a bargain.”
