A strong show of community spirit was on display in Carndonagh as this year’s Daffodil Day fundraiser proved a major success, raising an impressive €5,820 for cancer support services.
Organisers expressed heartfelt gratitude and a “huge thank you” to everyone who contributed to the event, which saw volunteers, local businesses and residents come together in support of the annual campaign.
Sellers generously gave their time throughout the day, while business owners across the town opened their doors to allow daffodil sales on their premises.
Appreciation was also extended to those who donated fresh daffodils, as well as local media outlets that helped raise awareness in the lead-up to the event.
However, organisers emphasised that the biggest thanks go to the public, whose donations and purchases made the fundraiser such a success.

Funds raised will go directly to the Irish Cancer Society, supporting vital services including free care, information and support for cancer patients and their families nationwide, as well as funding life-saving research.
Organisers said the level of support received in Carndonagh will have a real impact on those affected by cancer in Donegal and across Ireland, describing the community’s generosity as invaluable.
“We truly cannot express how much your support this Daffodil Day means to us; your help made a real difference,” they added.
