Greenock Morton close on play-off spots

Greenock Morton climbed to within two points of the play-off places in the Scottish Championship with a 2-0 win at home against 10-man Dunfermline.

Eamonn Murphy put the home side into the lead after 22 minutes, a cross from Owen Moffat finding the striker free inside the box with room to knock it past goalkeeper Billy Terrell.

Grant Gillespie missed a first-half penalty and Kieran Ngwenya was dismissed early in the second period for fouling Moffat when deemed to be the last defender.

Zak Delaney won another penalty for handball against Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen in the 65th minute, with Cammy MacPherson this time converting from the spot.
