A Lee McColgan penalty on 14 minutes opened the scoring for Gavin Cullen’s side and the home side managed to get back on terms nine minutes later. Matthew McKevitt, having tried to play a give-and-go with Frank McKevitt, saw the ball fall into his path and shot home for teh eight-time winners.

Cockhill were the dominant force and in extra-time they tested Billy McCarthy in the hosts’ goal. They were not to be denied though and Duffy struck a winner in the second period to cap a fine performance on the road.
