Local link has made plans to upgrade five bus routes in Inishowen by mid September.

The routes getting upgraded will be Carndonagh to Derry, Greencastle to Letterkenny, Malin Head to Carndonagh, Greencastle to Derry and Buncrana to Greencastle.

“I welcome this information about improved local link services for Inishowen received from Local Link” said Councillor Albert Doherty

“It is great to finally be in a position to progress the expanded and upgraded public transport service for Inishowen.”

“The proposed plans are welcomed. I hope these upgrades in the public transport system will help students access college in Letterkenny and Derry.”

Cllr Doherty continued by saying he would like Donegal County Council and Local Link to help improve facilities for bus users, adding bus shelters for these improvements.

Once these are up and running, there will then follow a retendering process for the smaller Demand Response type service - door to door.
