A man has been charged after a fatal assault in Co Roscommon early on New Year’s Day.
Gardai say the man in his 30s was brought to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin with critical injuries after the incident on Barrack Street in Ballaghaderreen at around 1am on January 1.
He has since died from his injuries.
A man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the investigation and has been charged.
He is due to appear in court on Sunday.
Gardai say investigations are ongoing and they have asked for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Castlerea Garda Station.
