A man residing in County Dublin who gardaí allege issued a threat of criminal damage to a woman in County Kildare has been granted bail.

On Thursday, October 26 last, the court was told that Stephen Harold, with an address listed as 7 Foxborough Drive in Lucan, County Dublin, allegedly issued the threat over an alleged debt owed for drugs at an estate located in Newbridge on October 22 last (which is where the woman resides).

The 19-year-old faces a separate charge of being in possession of an unknown quantity of cannabis for the purpose of sale or supply at Rowanvilla on Eyre Street in Newbridge on October 9 last.

Defending barrister Aisling Murphy told Judge Desmond Zaidan at the time that Mr Harold had not made an application for bail, but on the latest court date (Thursday, November 2), substitute Judge Philip O'Leary was told that bail conditions had been agreed for the accused.

Mr Harold, who appeared on the latest court date via video-link as he was remanded in custody at the time, has been ordered to lodge his own bond of €2,000; he must reside at a listed address (it was heard that the owner of the home is a relation of his); he must sign on at his local garda station daily; he must observe a curfew from 10am to 7pm; he must have no direct or indirect contact with the alleged injured party or any State witnesses; and he must provide a phone number to gardaí and be contactable at all times.

The case was adjourned by Judge O'Leary to November 11, to allow time for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
