A Naas District Court judge refused jurisdiction over a court case on Thursday, March 7 last.

Judge Desmond Zaidan made the decision in the case of Dean Smith, with an address listed as 3438 Lakeside Park in Newbridge.

The court was previously told that the 30-year-old stands accused of stealing property from a car in the Pairc Mhuire region of Newbridge on December 7 last.

He was also previously accused of committing two burglary offences in Newbridge on December 16 last, but these matters were struck out on the latest date.

Judge Zaidan refused jurisdiction over Mr Smith's ongoing case and adjourned it to April 18, to allow time for approval of the judge's decision from the Director of Public Prosecution.

A book of evidence is also due on this date.
