The post office located in Leixlip is due to relocate, An Post has confirmed.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the matter, a spokesperson for An Post responded: "We are about to unveil a brand-new, purpose-fitted modern post office at the Barnhall Shopping Centre on the Celbridge road, which will mean a move from the current location at the Leixlip Shopping Mall over the weekend of September 13, 2024.
"The new location gives customers a new, modern, purpose-fitted post office with enhanced access, car parking and footfall.
The spokesperson added: "The office will remain closed on Friday, September 13 and reopen at the new location on Monday, September 16."
However, Kildare county councillor Nuala Killeen expressed concerns over the move when she appeared on KFM this morning.
The Social Democrats Cllr claimed the move will disadvantage at least 20,000 locals.
