Experimental side for opening tie

Brian Flanagan, his hopes and aspirations with Kildare

Brian Flanagan and his management team have announced the side to take on Wexford, on Saturday, 3 January, in the opening round of the 2026 Dioralyte O'Byrne Cup, Round 1, at Samaritans St Patrick's Park, Enniscorthy with a 1.30 pm throw-0n,  Darragh Byrne in charge.

A win for Kildare on Saturday would put them into the semi-finals of the O'Byrne Cup against the winners of Dublin and Laois on Saturday 10 January.

A defeat would see Kildare drop into the O'Byrne Cup Shield, where they would play the losers of the Carlow v Offaly opening round game, that fixed for Wednesday 7 January.
