The provision of extra bus information signs has been sought for one County Kildare region.
Labour Party councillor Angela Feeney stressed the need for the signage at the latest Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD) meeting, which took place on Friday, April 10 last.
The subject was raised early in the meeting when she motioned for Kildare County Council (KCC) to 'engage with relevant bus service providers to increase the number of Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) screens at bus stops, given the rise in the
number of buses in Maynooth'.

Her motion was seconded by Fine Gael Cllr Tim Durkan.
Elaborating on the motion, Cllr Feeney told KCC that while it was 'good to see' more people in the MD travelling by bus, she emphasised that she had received reports of 'ghost buses' from constituents, which refers to buses that never turned up for passengers.
"There appears to be some confusion between the signs and the app," she added. "Perhaps even a QR code could be provided [at the bus stops] which shows the times?"
The Mayor of the MD, Fine Gael Cllr Brendan Wyse, also weighed in with his thoughts by telling KCC that he welcomed Cllr Feeney's suggestions.
In response to Cllr Feeney's motion, KCC said via the report it presented at the meeting: "KCC will engage with the National Transport Authority and the shelter provider to assess the possibility of adding RTPI units to existing shelters and bus stop locations."
