The 25% rejection rate of first time offers was criticised at a Kildare County Council.

Fine Gael politician Ivan Keatley said the figure is “extraordinarily high” given that all the apartments and houses which have been built are “of a high standard.”
KCC official Annette Aspell confirmed the figure and said it is increasing.
Ms Aspell said it is an issue which needs to be addressed at national government level.
A KCC meeting was told that someone seeking to be housed is given two offers of accommodation and if these are turned down then the application is suspended for a year.
Some 670 properties were allocated by KCC and approved housing bodies, like Clúid Housing, last year.
A total of 151 offers were refused in 2024.
