Mould and damp on the walls at the Curragh Community College
The Curragh Community College remains closed today due to problems with the water supply.
A "no drinking water notice" was issued for the Curragh Camp. A notice on Facebook declared the school would be closed on Friday, January 16 for all students.
The news comes as the school continues to struggle with dire conditions.
Local politicians have rowed in behind the campaign for the new school building for the College to be made a priority for inclusion in the Department of Education and Youth’s implementation plan.
It's understood the Minister the new school project, based at Magee Barracks in Kildare town, is at Stage 3 – Tender Action and Award. The tender returns for building the new school have been received and are currently being reviewed, according to the Department of Education.
The Department of Defence has been contacted for an update on the water situation.
