Speeding Kildare learner driver had no insurance

Naas Roads Policing Unit were out on patrol in Kildare recently and detected a vehicle travelling at 87km/h in a 60km/h zone.

The driver was detected on the R148 near Maynooth.

The driver was:

  • An unaccompanied Learner

  • Uninsured

A €320 fine was issued to the driver, along with three penalty points issued for speeding and driving unaccompanied.

A court appearance is to follow for having no insurance.

An Garda Síochána Kildare stated: “Driving is a privilege — not a right. Break the law, face the consequences.”
