Plans have been granted for a €1.3 million extension and refurbishment of an existing medical centre at the junction of Newbridge Road and South Ring Road in Naas, Co Kildare.
The development led by Star Primary Care Ltd will involve significant alteration of a two-storey commercial building to create a mixed use healthcare and retail facility serving the local area.
Works will include construction of a new two storey external stair core to the rear of the building and extension of the existing first floor area.
The scheme also provides a full upgrade of the building exterior including new cladding revised entrances updated fenestration and new signage to modernise the structure.

Once completed the building will be subdivided to accommodate a convenience shop and pharmacy at ground floor level with two medical consultation units on the first floor.
The redesign aims to improve healthcare access while supporting complementary local services.
The scheme also provides surface level car parking boundary treatments and associated site works to improve access at the busy Naas junction.
Design and engineering work has been carried out by Diarmaid O'Sullivan Consulting Engineers supported by specialist environmental drainage and acoustic consultants.
