Works are to commence next week on improving access to Rathkieran Graveyard in Mooncoin, South Kilkenny.
The update was provided by Area Engineer Stan Cullen at this month's meeting of Piltown Municipal District.
Last month, Cllr Eamon Aylward stated that access to the graveyard 'is nigh on impossible at present due to the height of the weeds and the grass'.
"It was cut before and it needs to be cut again," he said.
Cllr Pat Dunphy agreed, stating that some stones lay hidden beneath the overgrowth, posing potential trip hazards to visitors, to which Cllr Aylward replied by saying 'it's very dangerous'.
