The countdown is well underway as Kilkenny Triathlon Club put the finishing touches in place for their annual triathlon.

The event, which is sponsored by Manicle Property Insurance Claims, will be held on Sunday, with Kilkenny Castle Park forming the scenic backdrop for the action. Attracting participants from all over Ireland, the triathlon offers a warm welcome to seasoned triathletes and enthusiastic first-timers alike.

“We are delighted to invite triathletes of all levels to join us for our triathlon,” said Nicole Hennessy, Race Director for this year’s event. “KTC is committed to delivering a safe, challenging, and enjoyable experience for everyone.”

Sanctioned by Triathlon Ireland, the event will showcase the natural beauty of Kilkenny and provide participants with a memorable race day. Athletes will swim in the Nore, bike through the county roads and run through the stunning grounds of Kilkenny Castle Park, experiencing the city’s charm while tackling this exhilarating challenge.

“We extend a special welcome to all first-timers who are eager to embrace the thrill of triathlon,” Hennessy added. “Our club takes pride in fostering a supportive environment, ensuring that everyone feels encouraged and celebrated throughout the race.”

Kilkenny Triathlon Club has a strong reputation for organising successful events that strike the perfect balance between safety and excitement. Sunday’s triathlon promises to deliver an exceptional race day experience. There will be sprint, try-a-tri and relay options to cater for all abilities.

“We are grateful for the generous support of our sponsor, Manicle Property Insurance Claims, whose partnership makes this event possible,” said Hennessy. “Their commitment to our club and the sport of triathlon is greatly appreciated.”

Sunday’s sprint race will start at 11am, with the Try-A-Tri wave getting things underway at 10.40am. People who are not members of Triathlon Ireland will require a one day membership to take part in the event.
