The Loreto team that secured All-Ireland glory in 2024
Loreto Secondary School recently held an event to present medals to all 13 of their victorious Camogie Leinster and All-Ireland champion squads; spanning from the most recent Senior All Ireland, in which the Loreto girls overcame Ursuline Thurles in February of this year, back as far as January 2020, when Junior and Senior squads both claimed All-Irelands.
The event was held in-house on the Granges Road, as students past and present, along with their families were invited to attend and celebrate the girls’ fantastic sporting achievements. Such were the achievements of these girls, many attendees walked away with bags brimming with multiple medals.
Past Loreto student Grace Walsh presented the medals to the girls and shared her own fond memories of her school days in Loreto from not so long ago.

School principal, Colm Keher, along with members of camogie management Brendan Williams and Éanna Heffernan spoke of their pride in their students’ achievements on the camogie pitch and beyond; thanking players and parents for their role in promoting the game and driving standards of excellence in both the sporting and academic lives of Loreto students.
The occasion would not have been complete without all three men acknowledging the remarkable intercounty career of guest speaker Grace Walsh, as well as her impressive achievements during her school years. She continues to serve as an outstanding role model for all current students.
At the close of proceedings, joint-captains of the school’s senior camogie team for the current year, Angela Carroll and Anna Doheny, made a presentation to Grace Walsh to not only thank her for her attendance, but in particular to mark her recent retirement from intercounty camogie. Grace leaves an incredible legacy in the Kilkenny jersey, and set a high standard for those who are to follow.
Loreto Secondary School would like to thank all past and present students, along with their families, for their attendance; and also remind any past players who could not attend the presentation to contact the school directly so that they can receive their well-earned medals.
