Kilkenny handball has weekend to remember

Last weekend was one to remember for Kilkenny handball in the National Handball Centre as the Funchion brothers, Patrick and Peter (Kells Handball Club), qualified for their first Senior Doubles All-Ireland Final next weekend. The pair beat former champions Meath 21-13, 21-1 and will now meet reigning champions Cork in the final.

Fellow Kells player, Emily Phelan was crowned Girls U17 Singles All-Ireland champion with a convincing win to seal the title. 

Meanwhile, Jake O Neill and Mattie Corr had a fantastic nerve-wracking 11-9 tiebreak victory over Tyrone to secure the Boys U16 Doubles All Ireland Championship.
