Warning over text message scams (File Photo)
There have been multiple reports of people across Kilkenny receiving similar scam text messages in recent days.
The texts in question are formatted as follows: "(Bank Name): A direct debit of (X) has been scheduled to (Company Name). If unrecognised, call (Phone Number) immediately. Ref: (Fake Reference Number)."

Please do not respond or call back the number, as you could become a victim of crime. Contact your bank directly if in doubt.
