Kilkenny people could be secret heirs to forgotten family wealth in the UK.
That's according to Unclaimedestates.ie, which aims to provide help to find the rightful heirs of the estates of Irish people who have died in England or Wales since 1997.
In the UK, estates left without a will with no surviving relatives will pass to the British Crown; this is known as bona vacantia.

Claims to an estate are accepted 12 years from the date that the administration of the estate was completed, however the UK government will admit fully documented claims up to 30 years from the date of death.
316 estates belonging toIrish-born people are listed on the Unclaimed Estates website, all waiting to be claimed by a lucky eligible relative.
The full list of surnames is available to view on the Unclaimedestates.ie website along with the first name of the deceased person, their date of birth, place of birth, date of death and place of death.
