The wing-forward has been sidelined with a knee injury since the All-Ireland semi-final loss to Clare in 2024 and subsequently missed the entire 2025 season.

"Tom (Phelan) hopefully should be available for the next couple of games," Lyng told the media after Kilkenny's 1-21 to 1-20 Allianz Hurling League win over Waterford in UPMC Nowlan Park.

"He got through the last couple of sessions well so looking forward to seeing Tom back," he added.
