The Kilkenny Camogie team
In the Centra Senior Camogie League this afternoon Cork were the visitors to Pairc Lachtain in Freshford to play unbeaten Kilkenny.
The Rebelettes were without a win in the league before today, but with a stronger team available in Freshford with the return of players from All-Ireland club runners-up St Finbarrs, they put in a strong display to record a nine point victory over the home side by nine points.
Cork had early advantage of the breeze and had three points on the board through Haley Ryan, Emma Murphy (free) and Sorcha McCartan before Aoife Prendergast landed Kilkenny first point from a free on fourteen minutes. That Prendergast point saw Kilkenny play much better in the second quarter and the team would been happy enough to trail 0-7 to 0-4 at the interval with wind advantage in the second half.

A strong opening ten minutes in the second half saw Kilkenny draw level with Cork with a brace of pointed frees from Aoife Prendergast and further white flags from Asha McHardy and Sarah Barcoe. Kilkenny, though, could not build on that momentum and only managed to score one further point through an Aoife Prendergast free on twenty-nine minutes.
Next up for Kilkenny is an away game against Waterford next Saturday.
