Gardaí sprang into action earlier this evening to assist an animal rescue team caught in traffic during ongoing fuel protests, ensuring they could reach an injured pony in Kilkenny without further delay.
The My Lovely Horse Rescue team was travelling from Kildare to Kilkenny after receiving an urgent call about a pony suffering from a severe open wound and significant swelling to its leg.
With time critical, gardaí intervened after being alerted to the situation and moved swiftly to escort the rescue vehicle to its destination.

The decisive response allowed the team to travel quickly and significantly reduce delays in reaching the injured animal.
