Harold Lawlor- Durrow

Harold passed away peacefully in his 101st year in the excellent care of the medical staff of St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Predeceased by his wife Sheila, brother Liam, son Billy and his grandsons Ronan and Glen. Deeply regretted by his daughters Dorothy, Cindy, Elaine, Karen and Jemma, his sons Harold, Oliver, Martin, Ron and Anthony, his sister in law Phyl, sons in law, daughters in law, his 31 grandchildren and his 47 great-grandchildren, his niece, nephew and a large circle of friends and neighbours.Rest in Peace. Reposing at his residence (R32 X2P3) on Thursday 21st December 2023 from 12 o' clock concluding with recital of Rosary at 7pm. Requiem Mass is on Friday 22nd December 2023 at 12pm in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Durrow (R32 CK11) with burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, donations, in lieu, to Friends of St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny.


Sean Cuddy- Camross

The death has occurred of Sean Cuddy, Aughduff, Camross, Portlaoise on December 18, 2023, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Deeply regretted by his beloved wife Ann, and dear father to Sean Gerard, Fiona, Paula, Alan and Chris, his 12 adoring grandchildren, brothers, sisters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Sean Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his home (eircode R32XA39) on Tuesday evening, 19th December from 7 o’clock, concluding with Rosary at 10 o’clock, also reposing on Wednesday afternoon, 20th December, from 2 o’clock, concluding with Rosary at 9 o’clock. Removal on Thursday morning to St. Fergal’s Church (eircode R32VY79), for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery. Family flowers only please

Michael Morris- Portlaoise

The very sad and regrettable death has occurred of Michael Morris, retired Garda Inspector of Colliers Lane, Kilminchy, Portlaoise and formerly of Kinvara, Co. Galway who died on December 20, 2023 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his daughter Pauline and beloved husband to Peggy and loving father of Kieran, Michelle, Mary and Michael. Cherished grandfather to his 15 grandchildren and his two great grandchildren Alex and Leo. Deeply regretted by his sisters Breda, Eileen, and Mary, sons in law John and Eamon, daughters in law Tracy and Catriona and his nephews and nieces and his wider family circle and his friends and neighbours.May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Keegan’s funeral home on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 6.30pm till 8 pm with rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Friday the 22nd December 2023 to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 12 noon requiem mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul’s cemetery, Portlaoise.


Michael Phelan- Ballacolla

Of Derrylahan, Ballcolla, died on Tuesday, December 19. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Peg. Deeply regretted by his sisters Anna Marie, Rebecca and Catherine, brother-in-law Willie, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing at his residence with prayers on Thursday evening at 7 pm. Removal to The Church of The Most Holy Rosary on Friday for 11am. Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. 

Tom (Snowball) Brennan -Crettyard

The death has occurred of Tom Brennan (Snowball) Leeds, formerly of Monavea, Crettyard. Peacefully, after a short illness, at St Gemma’s Hospice, Leeds, surrounded by his loving family. Tom, loving husband of the late Dianne and father to Tony, Mark, Paul and Erin. Deeply regretted by his loving family, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

Laurence (Larry) Payne- Mountmellick

Of Killeen and formerly Emmett Terrace, Mountmellick. Died peacefully on December 19, 2023, at St. Vincent's Community Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Marie, his parents Jack and May and his brothers Ollie and Sean. Rest in Peace. Deeply regretted by his sons Garry and Jason, his grandchildren Noah, Imogen, Peter, Isaac and Penny-Kate, daughters-in-law Theresa and Hilary, sister Maureen, brothers Paul and PJ, sisters and brother-in-law, nieces and nephews and many friends. Reposing Moloneys Funeral Home, Mountmellick on Wednesday from 6pm. Recital of The Rosary at 7.30pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday in St. Joseph's Church, Mountmellick at 11am. Burial after in St Josephs Cemetery, Mountmellick.

Sr. Marie (Martina) Walsh - Mountmellick

Presentation Sisters Mountmellick died on December 17, 2023, peacefully at Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington. Predeceased by her parents John and Katie, her brothers Sean and Fr. Flannan, her sister Sr. Imelda, her nephew Michael and niece Paula.Deeply regretted by her brother Fr. Michéal CSSp Zambia, her sister Sr. Ita (Mercedes) Mercy Sisters Athlone her sister-in-law Peggy, her nephews Flannan and John, niece-in-law Marina, nephew-in-law Terry McGovern, grand nieces, grand-nephews extended family and her Presentation Sisters, past pupils and many friends. Reposing at Presentation Convent, Mountmellick on Tuesday from 2pm to 5.45pm. Removal to St. Joseph’s Church, Mountmellick for Evening Prayer at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in the Presentation Plot, Killina, Rahan, Co.Offaly.
