Ciara O'Neill, left, and Mary Phillips
Two players from Laois have been included in the Ireland Women's U-19s training camp as preparation for a major international tournament this summer.
With the 2024 UEFA Women's Under-19 European Championships fast approaching, the Ireland WU19s will use the training camp to continue their preparations.
Athlone Town players Ciara O'Neill, who originally played with Mountmellick FC and Mary Phillips who began her club career with Portlaoise FC, are both included as defenders in the squad.
They are joined in the squad by former Midlands ETP teammates Ellen Dolan (Peamount Utd) and Aoife Murphy-O'Connor (Athlone Town), both from Offaly, and Hazel Donegan (formerly Hodson Bay) who now plays for Athlone Town.
Head Coach Dave Connell has selected 27 players to meet up for a two-day training camp in May at the FAI National Training Centre.
There are first call-ups for Bohemians midfielder Aoibhe Brennan, Shelbourne attacker Rebecca Devereux and Treaty United forward Katie Lawlee.
Ireland will compete in this summer's EURO finals tournament in Lithuania, where they were drawn into Group B alongside Spain, Germany and Netherlands.
