Woman in court in connection with cyclist being knocked down in Laois

A court was told a woman is accused of careless driving in relation to a cyclist being knocked off his bike in Laois.  

Saoirse Kavanagh (25) of 15 The Glen, Boden Park, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16 is accused of careless driving at Larkin’s Cross, Portlaoise on December 12, 2023. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the incident related to a person who was “knocked down off his bike” at Larkin’s Cross. 

He said the man suffered “minor injuries, cuts to his hands and face allegedly.” 

Brian Mallon BL requested disclosure in the case. 

Judge Andrew Cody directed disclosure and adjourned the case to Portlaoise District Court on November 14.
