Fifteen energetic and enthusiastic employees of Laois engineering firm Fingelton White recently donned gardening gloves and boots to help Abbeyleix Tidy Towns put the finishing touches on their entry for Communities in Bloom.
Laois Volunteer Centre organised this corporate volunteering project to help support Abbeyleix Tidy Towns.
“It was a fantastic opportunity for Fingleton White to support the town of Abbeyleix as it prepared for the Communities in Bloom competition," said Rosa Mangue, Design Engineer with Fingelton White.
"Volunteering alongside my colleagues and local residents to brighten up green spaces was both rewarding and inspiring. It's community projects like this that really show what can be achieved when people come together - and they reflect Fingleton
White's ongoing commitment to sustainability and making a positive difference in the places we call home," Ms Mangue said.
Mary White, Secretary of Abbeyleix Tidy Towns, welcomed this help.
“Having a team of enthusiastic and hard -working volunteers like the Fingleton White staff come to help out provided us with a much needed boost to finalise the work we have been doing for our entry into Communities in Bloom.” she praised.
Catriona Ryan, Manager of Laois Volunteer Centre, hailed this project as a huge success.
"Everyone enjoyed the day, had some fun and helped with Abbeyleix’s entry for Communities in Bloom,” Ms Ryan said.
“We organised it as part of our corporate volunteer programme whereby we facilitate business organisations to provide
group volunteering opportunities for their employees”.
