North West Hospice has won a National Healthcare Award at an event held in the Aviva in Dublin to celebrate and reward the achievements, innovation and resilience of the Irish healthcare sector.
North West Hospice won the national award for "Healthiest Organisation/company of the Year" 2022 at the ceremony.
The award was due to the efforts in the organisation to support staff and promote well-being amongst the team.
Speaking about the award, Jacinta Kelly, chair of the staff support & well-being group at North West Hospice said, "Just 14 months ago we set up a Staff Support & Well-being Group consisting of multi-disciplines; Nursing, Social Work, Fundraising and Admin.
"The Group has focused on initiatives to build connection amongst the team, to acknowledge important achievements within our team and to bring a positive element to work-life.
"After the challenges of the pandemic, lifting spirits and building staff connection was more important than ever and this group invested much time in focusing on this.
"This award is a reward for all the hard work and for the whole team who participated in the well-being initiatives. We are thrilled and honoured to win this award and to be recognised for our work at National level."
North West Hospice provide palliative care with compassion to all who need it throughout Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan.
