The Leitrim candle – a perfect gift for Christmas – now exclusively available at Mulveys House of Gifts
Mulvey’s House of Gifts is packed full with beautiful gifts for Christmas and it has a very special gift for those home and abroad this Christmas – the bespoke ‘Leitrim’ candle, handcrafted by Drumreilly woman Paula McGovern, who set up Wizard & Grace sustainable Essential Oil candles earlier this year.
The Leitrim candle is one of four intention candles in the Wizard & Grace intention candle range – all made with the highest quality and most sustainable ingredients. It is available exclusively in Mulvey’s House Gift Set in a gift set with Bandia (Goddess candle).
“We are delighted to offer our customers a Leitrim candle as well as support a local Leitrim business founder,” said Marie Scollan, Giftware Manager, Mulvey’s House of Gifts. “The candles are inspired by Leitrim landscapes and waterscapes and would make a lovely gift – especially for those not able to return to Leitrim for Christmas.”
Scented only with pure essential oils and using sustainable and ethically sourced Rapeseed & Coconut wax, Wizard & Grace are a very different construct from the many artificial and synthetic fragranced soy or paraffin wax candles available. Both soy and paraffin wax are problematic - paraffin is a byproduct of the petroleum industry and soy, while plant-based, is an unsustainable crop to grow and its popularity creating sustainability and humanitarian issues in origin countries through intensive farming methods and deforestation.
"To counter this I have created something simple and pure - if it's not 100% essential oil - I don't use it; if it's not the most sustainable wax available - rapeseed & coconut - I don't use it," explains McGovern. Wizard & Grace brand ethos is to be committed to positive change for the planet. "Not only have we sourced ethically sustainable materials but all of what we use is recycled, recyclable, compostable, reusable and natural."
The Leitrim candle gift set is available in store in Mulvey’s House of Gifts and online at www.mulveys.ie.
