THREE of Limerick's seven TDs will be representing the Government abroad during next month's St Patrick's Day celebrations, it has been confirmed.
The Government has announced its St Patrick's Day programme, which will see the Taoiseach, Tánaiste and more than 30 ministers and ministers-of-state visit overseas countries in a bid to promote Ireland abroad.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar will visit Washington for the traditional visit to the White House while Tánaiste Micheál Martin will travel to New York and Boston. Green Party leader Eamon Ryan will be jetting off to Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.
Limerick TD and Minister-of-State Niall Collins will travel to Malaysia and the Philippines while his constituency colleague, Minister-of-State Patrick O'Donovan, will travel to Thailand and Indonesia.
Limerick City TD Kieran O'Donnell who was appointed as Minister-of-State last December will represent the Government when he visits Croatia and Slovenia.
The international trips, details of which were confirmed on Tuesday night, form part of the Government's 'Global Ireland' initiative, which seeks to promote Ireland as a location to live, visit, work, invest in, study in and trade with.
A total of 36 representatives of the State will visit 74 cities in 44 countries as part of the programme.
