Bike Week returns to Limerick

Bike Week returns to Limerick

The events will take place from May 13 to 21

BIKE Week is coming back in full swing next week in Limerick.

With an exciting line-up of events and activities aimed at promoting cycling and its benefits, Bike Week will take place from May 13 to 21.

Kicking off the festivities is the Family Bike Parade and Fun Day at Arthurs Quay Park on Sunday, May 14 from 2pm to 4pm. The parade, which begins at approximately 2.45pm, promises to be a fun-filled event for all ages – and participants are encouraged to bring their own bike for the parade, but even those without a bike can join in as a limited number of TFI Bikes will be available at the event and free to use.

The parade will take in some of Limerick's most iconic sights, including King John's Castle, Thomond Bridge, Clancy Strand, O'Callaghan Strand, and Shannon Bridge. Cyclists of all skill levels are invited.

Throughout the week, there will be a range of activities to encourage and inspire cycling in Limerick. From group rides to workshops and talks, there'll be something for everyone.

Limerick City and County Council have partnered with local groups and organisations to bring Bike Week to life.

Director of Services, Transportation and Mobility at Limerick City and County Council, Brian Kennedy, said: “Bike Week is a fantastic opportunity for people to discover the joys of cycling and to learn more about how cycling can benefit both individuals and communities. We hope that everyone in Limerick will get involved and enjoy the fantastic line up of events we have planned.”
