Gardaí arrest two for public order offences in Limerick town
TWO people have been arrested following public order offences in a west Limerick town in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that the arrests were made in the town of Abbeyfeale.
A video of an incident, which was taken by the passenger of a passing vehicle and has been shared widely on social media platforms, shows at least four gardaí in uniform attending the scene.
The incident occurred just off Main Street, in the centre of the town, along the N21, the main road connecting Limerick with neighbouring Kerry.
In the video, an altercation can be seen spilling across the busy road, with at least two garda vehicles on the scene.
Following a query from Limerick Live, gardaí declined to comment on the video, adding that they do “not confirm operational details”.
