LIMERICK hurler Graeme Mulcahy has donated his signed 2023 All-Ireland winning jersey to his former primary school, Scoil Mocheallóg, Kilmallock National School.

The jersey will be auctioned off to raise funds for the development of a new all-weather facility for the school.

Graeme, the holder of five All-Ireland hurling medals, had his first taste of competitive hurling at Scoil Mocheallóg under the stewardship of Michael Barron and John Aherne.

Principal of Scoil Mocheallóg, Leonie Passmore said “Graeme, as a former pupil of the school has always been on hand to help us in any way he can and after visiting the area where the all-weather facility is being built he felt he had to give us something.

Graeme was extremely impressed with development and as he had such fond memories himself of playing sports with the school he felt the best way to help with the fundraiser was to donate his 2023 jersey.”

The pitch will benefit the young people of today and allow the future pupils of Scoil Mocheallóg access to a state of the art, all year round playing surface.

The auction, which currently has its highest bid at €600, finishes on January 1, 2024.

The jersey will be auctioned on the Scoil Mocheallóg facebook page. Bids can be sent to 087 7806523.
