A Limerick hairstylist helped Cillian Murphy get ready for the Oscars.

Gareth Bromell helped Cillian Murphy get ready for the Oscars' red carpet, which took place on Sunday.

Gareth prepped both Cillian's hair and his skin.

The Castleconnell native became a household name after styling Taylor Swift’s hair. Since then, he has worked with A-list celebrities such as Phoebe-Waller Bridge, Lily Allen, Claire Foy, as well as Geri Halliwell.

The hairstylist attended the local primary school in Castleconnell and is the son of Lily Bromell and former rugby winger Mick Bromell, who played with Thomond RFC, Bohemians, as well as Munster in the late 70s.

Sharing a few snaps of Cillian, who won Best Actor for his role in Oppenheimer, Gareth called his pal "The Boss".

Speaking of the style he created for Cillian, he said: "My inspiration for Cillian’s look is Cillian himself- and all the aspects that make him the man he is an actor/ husband/ father/ Irishman. Like all of us he’s multi-faceted - rugged yet refined, grounded yet playful - just like Ireland itself. Quintessentially Irish."

He continued: "His look is traditionally classic but elevated. Polished and masculine. The road to the Oscars is long and arduous and we all can pay the price. Cillian has the best hair, so we always work to enhance his natural texture. I used Dyson’s Supersonic professional hair dryer to create body and frame his strong angular face."

Gareth also posted videos of the Cork actor accepting his award.

Oppenheimer swept the Oscars, winning seven prizes, including Best Actor for Cillian Murphy and Best Director for Christopher Nolan.

In his acceptance speech, an overwhelmed Cillian Murphy said: "I want to thank my incredible team.... Yvonne McGuinness, my partner in life and art, my two boys, Malachy and Aran, who are sitting up there. I love you so much. I'm a very proud Irishman standing here tonight."
