Netflix to bring Marian Keyes' bestseller to the screen

Marian Keyes shared the news on X, formerly known as Twitter

MARIAN Keyes' bestseller, Grown Ups, has been picked up by Netflix.

The novel will be adapted for screen as an ensemble family drama.

The drama is based on three couples - Nell and Liam, Cara and Ed, Jessie and Rory. And, like most families, the Caseys are a complicated bunch.
Sharing the big news, the Limerick native said: "Hello!!!!!!!!!!! I have EXCITING Netflix-y news."
The adaptation will be out in 2026.
"Oh my god, THANK you all for your generosity of spirit, i'm so grateful and delighted. Like, you're lovely. Sorry for not replying individually but I really appreciate you. I promise I will not get notions 'going forward'," she added.
Published in 2020, Grown Ups tells the story of a glamorous family - the Caseys.

Johnny Casey, his two brothers, Ed and Liam, their beautiful, talented wives and all their kids spend a lot of time together – birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, weekends away. And they’re a happy family. Johnny’s wife, Jessie – who has the most money – insists on it.

Under the surface, though, conditions are murkier. While some people clash, other people like each other far too much.

Everything stays under control until Ed’s wife, Cara, gets a concussion and can’t keep her thoughts to herself. One careless remark at Johnny’s birthday party, with the entire family present, starts Cara spilling out all their secrets.

In the subsequent unravelling, every one of the adults finds themselves wondering if it’s time – finally – to grow up?
