Here I am with the former chief executive of Dubai Duty Free, Colm McLoughlin, and Millie Ahern O'Donnell
I HOLD such fabulous memories from the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival at The Curragh and it was such a pleasure to be back there again on Sunday where the style was simply out of this world!
I have a wonderful connection to the former chief executive of Dubai Duty Free, Colm McLoughlin and his wife Breeda as I actually used to model in the Duty Free in Shannon Airport many, many years ago when I was a young woman. Colm went on to do huge things internationally. I'm a huge admirer of himself and Breeda, they are wonderful people.
A few years ago I went to Abu Dhabi and he heard I was there and he invited me into Dubai and we went to a famous tennis tournament in which Roger Federer was playing and I couldn't believe I was up so close to all of this.
Back to last Sunday and the style. It's no secret the weather hasn't been the kindest to us of late but thankfully it stayed mostly dry on Sunday so you could really take in and admire all the beautiful fashion.
The ladies really put in such an effort for this fixture on the calendar - the ensembles just oozed class and sophistication.
Pastel colours were a popular choice and, of course, it wouldn't be summer without a strong showing of florals.
Liz Maher from Bagenalstown, County Carlow, was crowned Best Dressed and took home the Dubai Duty Free Most Stylish competition prize.

She looked so elegant in a white skirt suit which has seen several days out at races over the years.
She teamed her ensemble with beautiful pearls, a matching headpiece, white gloves and a sparkling clutch.
Well done to all the ladies who turned on the style - I'm looking forward to next year already.
