A NIGHT of music celebrating the talents of three late local legends remembered Johnny Duhan, Johnny Fean and Jon Kenny with performances from international stars Bill Whelan and Dave Keary last Tuesday.
The concert presented by RTÉ DJ Mickey Mac was held in the Lime Tree Theatre on May 20 and was organised by Cha Haran, an ex member of the Limerick band Granny's Intentions, who also performed on the night along with fellow former member John Ryan.
Mr Haran was delighted with how the event went and he thanked the Lime Tree Theatre, Limerick City and County Council Festivals and Events team and Senator Maria Byrne for their help in organising the show. Despite this, he was disappointed by the lack of support for the event shown by local political representatives. "She's the only politician that lent a hand for three legends of Limerick. I think that's very disappointing," stated Mr Haran.

Mr Haran also thanked the musicians and sound staff, Mick Dolan, Leanne Purcell, Mickey Mac, CUBE Printing, Edge Clothing, Tracey Hockedy who worked on the poster and programme for the event and musical director Dave Keary.
Mick Hanly, John Ryan and Brian O'Connor gave a tribute to singer-songwriter Johnny Duhan, and Johnny Fean's brothers Donal and Ray and Blues Train will performed in his honour. Finally, a tribute to comedian and ex member of Limerick band Gimik Jon Kenny was given by Derek O'Sullivan.
