TWO people were hospitalised following a serious serious road traffic collision in County Limerick on Saturday night.

A video of the aftermath of the incident, which has been shared on social media, shows a car on its roof on the outskirts of Newcastle West.

Gardai and a number of members of the public can be seen going to assist those in the vehicle. Screaming and shouting from distressed individuals can be heard on the video.

A garda spokesperson confirmed to Limerick Live that gardaí are investigating a road traffic collision that occurred on the Limerick Road, Gortboy, Newcastle West, County Limerick at approximately 8pm on Saturday night, December 6.

“Two persons were removed from the scene to University Hospital Limerick with non-life threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.

There are unconfirmed reports that two female occupants of the vehicle didn’t require hospitalisation.
