Judge warns Limerick man who had his home searched that he ‘can’t keep doing this'

“HE CAN’T be trading in cocaine and not expect to go to prison”, Judge Patricia Harney said as a young man was brought before Limerick District Court.

Robert Waters, 28, was caught with €448 worth of drugs following a gardaí search of his home at Columcille Street, Saint Mary`s Park, Limerick on January 2, 2025.

Inspector Liam Wallace said that upon being caught, Mr Waters admitted to selling drugs, and was charged with drug possession and the sale and supply of drugs.

Solicitor John Herbert said in mitigation that the young man lives at home, has a very difficult family background, and that “his mother is debilitated with strokes”. Mr Herbert said that his client “couldn’t have been more co-operative” with gardaí, and that he made full admissions.

Judge Harney stated “I’ll give him credit for his early plea”, but warned that Mr Waters “can’t keep doing this”. The judge convicted and fined him €400, giving him four months to pay.
