The 46 acre residential roadside farm at Ballyvologue, Ballingarry
AUCTIONEER Richard Ryan was the man with the gavel at the sale of a 46 acre residential roadside farm at Ballyvologue, Ballingarry.
It took place in GVM’s auction room in Kilmallock Mart. The property was described by GVM’s Mr Ryan as a “superb south facing Golden Vale holding with excellent quality permanent pasture, laid out in well-sheltered rolling fields with extensive road frontage”.
Farm buildings included two haybarns, cubicle house, silage apron, cattle pen and crush. A three-bedroom bungalow is vacant and requires refurbishment.

The bids came from both in house and through the online LSL facility with an opening bid of €650,000 from the floor. Mr Ryan had a relatively easy job to arrive at €820,000.
After a brief recess the property was placed on the market. Mr Ryan dropped his gavel a few minutes later at €820,000 in favour of the in house bidder West Limerick-based estate agent Pat O’Donovan, who was believed to have been representing a local farming family.
Commenting after the auction, Mr Ryan said that it was a property that offered great potential given that there was an existing residence and it was well-situated within close proximity to Ballingarry and Croom. He was satisfied with the price achieved which was in line with the vendors’ expectations.
