GARDAÍ in Adare, Limerick, are investigating the burglary of a shop on main street in the early hours of April 6.

Sergeant Aoife Bannon, of Henry Street Garda Station, said the suspects smashed the front window of the shop to gain entry to the premises between 3am and 4am. Once inside, the burglars stole several mobile phones.

The sergeant stated: “Smashing a window like that causes significant damage, and it can be very costly and upsetting for the business owner involved.”

“We believe the suspects made their getaway in a black-coloured car, and we are very keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at that time.”

“Even something that seemed small — perhaps seeing a car driving through the village at an unusual hour, or hearing noise during the night — could be very helpful to our investigation.”

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information, or those who may have noticed anything suspicious in Adare during those hours, to contact Adare Garda Station on 061 396 216, or alternatively the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
