Late Rose A McCabe, Cloncovid, Kilcogy, Cavan
The sudden death of Rose McCabe, Cloncovid, Kilcogy, which occurred on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, is regretted over a wide area.
Aged 92, Rose was in her usual good form in the days prior to her passing which has left her neighbours and family shocked.
A lovely friendly lady with a quick wit, Rose welcomed all visitors to her cosy home where she loved to chat and relate stories of her time in America.
In her young days she was employed in the old Providers shop in Cavan and is remembered driving a green Morris Minor car as she set off for work.
She was deeply religious and loved spending time in the church whether at mass or for a quiet visit.
She was secretary of the local Apostolic Society for many years and her loyalty to the organisation is fondly recalled by its members.
Rose was predeceased by her parents James and Mary Kate, brothers John and Paddy and her sister Kathleen and she is survived by her sister Margaret (U.S.A.), nieces and nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends to whom we extend our sincere sympathy.
Her remains reposed in Simon Reilly’s funeral Home. Kilcogy on Friday evening, June 30, following which mass was celebrated by Fr P J assisted by Fr Jim Brady.
Funeral Mass took place in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran on Thursday, July 6 at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the local cemetery.
