Community mourns death of highly respected Wicklow native who made Curraghroe his home

The late Frank Kearns, 'Fairvalley Lodge', Killavacken, Curraghroe, Roscommon / Greystones, Wicklow

It is with a great sadness that we record the death on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Roscommon Hospice of Frank Kearns, Killavacken, Curraghroe.

A native of Greystones, Co Wicklow, he moved to Curraghroe about 20 years ago.

Frank was a warm and friendly man who always made the time to chat with you ensuring you had his full attention.

Frank was always the thorough gentleman and highly respected.

He had a real warm and genuine smile that endeared him to everyone he met.

He had a great interest in and excelled in the game of golf.

Predeceased by his brother Pat, Frank's remains reposed in Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon on Tuesday, December 12. His remains were removed to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Ballyleague on Wednesday for the Mass of the Resurrection which was followed by a private cremation.

We extend our deepest sympathy to his wife Bernie, his son Alan, daughter June, daughter-in-law Denise, brothers Ger and Martin, sisters Eileen and Catherine, grandchildren Nicholas, Keelin, Declan, Aiden, Victoria, A.J., Danielle, Rebekah and Rory, great-grandchildren Josh, Bobby and Charlie, foster daughter Jacinta, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
